3 Brains No One Is Talking About

As science has evolved imagine our surprise when we discovered intelligence throughout the entire body... including second and third brain.

The human brain contains approximately 86 billion neurons.

Neurons are information messengers. They use electrical impulses and chemical signals to transmit information between different areas of the brain and the rest of the nervous system.

For a long time, it was believed that the brain was the source of all our experiences but that is simply not true.

As science has evolved, along with our ability to study the body, imagine our surprise when we discovered intelligence throughout the entire body including a second and third brain.

These secondary “brains” impact our lives and experiences dramatically and are critical in determining the quality of your life and your ability to navigate the world effectively and from an empowered state.

The First Brain

Known as the “Thinking Brain” the brain in our head is the largest and most complex of the three. It is our direct interface to managing the physical body to keep it alive and for our thoughts.

This includes operations such as breathing and movement to recording our experiences and providing the mechanisms for learning, understanding, awareness and reason. Without it, we could not function in the physical world.

One of the misconceptions about the brain is that it is the source of our consciousness and that it is where all our experiences are stored but that is not true.

The brain on its own, without the influence of emotions, is unbiased. All the judgments, opinions, and negative traits a person adopts into their life is all programming from external influences, but it is not your natural state.

One of the greatest discoveries of the brain, last century, was the concept of “neuroplasticity” which demonstrated how the brains neural pathways were not fixed meaning that our programming could be changed.

The Second Brain

Comprised of about 40,000 neurons the human heart is sometimes referred to as our “little” brain. It has a much smaller neural network than the brain, but it is arguably the most important and most powerful.

The heart is the source of what is known as the emotional body and is spiritually known to be the seat of the soul. It is what allows us to feel peace, love, joy, anger, sadness, and all the many emotions that we do.

The heart, through the emotional body, filters and interprets the experiences of the body as received through the “head brain” and gives it color and flavor.

Without emotions, life would be robotic, and there would be less meaning and purpose assigned to our experiences making seem monotonous and one dimensional at best.

We would not be able to appreciate the finer things in life, like family and friends, and be influenced by the greatest of all human emotions... love. That love, when unconditional, is the greatest power that exists on the planet.

Emotions in general are mostly misunderstood by conventional psychology and in particular the mindset movement. If you look at most all the medications for mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, they are all designed to suppress or repress emotions, which is ironically the source of the problem in the first place.

Emotions are what makes this human experience… an experience. It’s like watching an old black and white movie from the 1920’s on an old TV versus watching an epic 3D IMAX movie of today. They do not even compare.

All negative emotions are transient if released and let go of with the understanding of why the emotion is there in the first place. Your body is talking. Negative emotions are not our natural state.

You can read more about emotions in the article “Emotions: The Key to all Transformation and the Superhuman You.”

The Third Brain

Can you guess what the third brain is?

It consists of 500 million neurons, which are connected to your brain through the nervous system. It is what drives our fight, flight, or freeze response when we’re faced with danger.

When we are in-tune with this brain it is our very own GPS or compass that helps us navigate the pitfalls and dangers of the world and assists with decision making. It also plays a major role in our mood and the overall health of the body.

If you guessed it is your gut, your lower abdomen area, which is responsible for your digestive system, then you are right. It is also home to trillions of bacteria that helps us break down and digest food and to absorb nutrients.

These bacteria also produce neurotransmitters that can impact your mood and nervous system. Science has shown that the food we eat can have a direct impact on our emotional state and create mood swings, besides having long-term affects on our health.

Eating clean, and ideally, foods that are minimally processed is the best for the human body as it will not only help keep your gut 'brain' healthy and working efficiently, but it will also keep your overall body functioning optimally... physically, mentally, and emotionally.

It goes without saying that the gut is the source of your “gut feelings” and it grounds and guides your intuition, especially when connected to the heart, and ultimately the brain.

All three of these brains have critical roles in helping us navigate and thrive in the world around us. When they work in harmony with one another, and are in balance, that is when you can create the ultimate flow state.

In the flow state is when you can consciously begin manifesting synchronicities and miracles into your life.
